Baseus MA10 Review
The Baseus MA10 are strange, strange earbuds. They're inexpensive and packed with features. How is this possible? I don't know, but nobody is upset about this combination.
Features:
- 48dB Hybrid Noise Canceling
- 4 microphones (2 per earbud) for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) during phone calls
- 8 hour battery life
- Huge case with up to 3 weeks worth of use
Fit
Getting the right fit can take a bit of time and will greatly impact user experience, as well as noise cancelation. The easiest way to find the right fit is to start with the largest silicone tips and the largest wings. The tips sholuld fill your ear canal completely and compress to fit. Try this combo for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
If you notice discomfort especially with the wings, switch to the medium wings. When properly fit, the earbuds will sit securely, won't fall out, and will be so comfortable you'll forget you're wearing them.
Tip:
Wipe the earbuds, silicone tips , and wings often. If possible, wipe after every use. This will reduce wax buildup. Wax buildup will reduce audio volume and oils will make the earbuds slippery and harder to stay in the ears.
Setup And Pairing
Download and install the Baseus app. Create an account so that your saved settings can automatically transfer if you change your phone.
Bind your earbuds to the Baseus app. Once done, check for firmware updates and run the update if one is available.
Setup gestures to your liking.
If you wan't louder audio levels, create a custom EQ and adjust the levels. Increasing each EQ band by one level will result in significantly louder and better audio. Note that it's not recommended you play audio at excessively loud volumes so as not to damage your
hearing.
Setup the ANC profile you'll prefer.
When bluetooth pairing your phone, DO NOT enable HD Audio of AAC if you're using an android phone. Doing so will result in laggy, delayed audio, poor battery life, and low volume levels.
Spatial Audio/BISA (Baseus Immersive Spatial Acoustics):
This is 3D Surround Sound. While this feature is not advertised, you will experience it when watching movies and listening through the MA10
Noise Cancellation
ANC works well. It's more effective with lower frequencies. Higher frequency noise is reduced significantly.
ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) is effective. Background sounds such as other people talking and some vehicle traffic can be heard by the other party, but none of the background noise is intrusive enough to be bothersome.
Range:
Range is very good when listening to audio. When on a phone call, the earbuds will struggle if you stray too far away from your phone.
Battery Life:
I experience about 9 hours of battery life when listening to audio, and about 4 hours on phone calls. If you use one earbud at a time instead of 2, battery life becomes completely irrelevant, as you can use one and charge one.
The battery life offered by the case is one of a kind. I'm not aware of any other earbud cases in existence that can give you 2-3 weeks of endurance. This is useful for long trips, camping, and convenience. The downside is that the case is huge and this isn't a bad thing. If battery endurance is important to you, the size of the case is a moot point. A small, chic case is of no use if you forget to charge it and it gets depleted.
Sound Quality:
Sound quality is amazing. The volume is clear and loud. The details are crisp. The bass is powerful.
Conclusion
The MA10 are some of the best earbuds available, especially for the price. It's the only model on the market that can keep going for over 2 weeks. The price is extremely competitive. The features and performance are superior to every alternate in its price class. You won't regret buying these earbuds.
